This afternoon, I got the Sonic up on ramps and started on its 2nd oil change... 12,483 miles on the clock.
I slide under the car and am greeted with a couple of bodily fluid leaks... Front corner of the oil pan and the transmission, but that is a subject for another subforum.
Obviously this should be under warranty but that doesn't change the fact that this is a disappointment.
It sucks, but at least there is a dipstick so I can keep tabs on the oil level. I don't have that luxury with my leaking transmission (fortunately it is not seeping as bad as the engine.)
And of course I went ahead with the oil change, so when I take it into the dealer I'll probably get my Pennzoil Platinum synthetic swapped out for the Dexos blend if they have to pull the oil pan.
At least I only paid less than $4 for a 5.1 qt jug after sales, coupons, and rebates.
opcorn:
So what's going on here? Did the goo they use on the pan instead of a real gasket not cure correctly? Anyone else have this problem?
