Nice job with the racing stripes and spoiler, but the stock 16" wheels are defeating the purpose! It's like a hot chick wearing pants and shoes from K-Mart.

I actually like the factory 16" wheels and might go with them in black instead of the LTZ 17's. I think they would blend better with the white car/black stripes if he plastidipped them black though.

@ JT ~ thanks on the first compliment and as for your wheel comment, Not everyone is made of money and can go out and buy new Rims whenever they feel like it. When i have the extra cash to do so, i very much plan on changing them out with something else! But i personally love the stock 16" wheels hence why i paid more to get them. Yeah, stock they dont look like much, but wait til i get them painted next year man. Give it a chance. everyone's got their prefrences...

D) $260 is WAY overpriced.

I had mine done by a reputable tint shop where I live (20+ years in business) and they charged me $180. Not a bubble to be found, and even though mine was the first Sonic sedan they did, the rear window with that weird fading bubble/tint pattern (at the top) ended up looking great with tint over it, despite their initial concern. 35% in front and 15% the rest of the way around, and I can see fine out the rear window. Also, I've had three cars tinted with rear window in-glass defrosters and none of them had any issues with the tint.

Here in Michigan no tint is allowed on the front windows, but it seems 35% is the threshold with the police even caring. I've had 35% on my Mazda 3 for 8+ years and they never batted an eye at it.

I have 5% and I only have trouble seeing out the windows when it's dark out. 20 should be fine. Should. Perhaps someone with 20% will chime in.

Also, JT, I paid 59.99 plus tax for mine, so expensive really depends on where you are.

I have 15 on my Sonic and 20 on my Mazda 3. I really can't tell a difference. To me that is the "just right" dark tint. I've had 5% on a car before in back and that was pretty damn dark at night. I never have any issue with the 15 or 20, but it still looks somewhat dark from the outside.

$60 for a full tint job? That's great! I'm comfortable paying what I did, but I'd never pay over $200.

Fallenangel, what city do you live in? It seems even a moderately sized city would have a handful of independent tint shops. Heck, there are 4 within a two mile radius of me!

I'm in El Paso; tint shops are a dime a dozen. ;P I can walk, from my house, to three tint shops. One of them without sweating. Well, sweating too much. It's just so common it's really cheap.

Yes, I have NO problem seeing out of 15% in my Sonic. And if you have a hatch, I can imagine the visibility is even better out the larger rear window.

On my last car ( in Ohio) I had 2.5% on the back and 35 on the front and never had a problem. As long as your not being a ... To a cop he won't pull you over for just the tiny looking dark on the front

I had one of my buddy's that works in a shop do mine at his house, haven't had the time to bring the sonic over there yet, but he charged me 145 and that was on a rav4. So I wouldn't expect to pay anywhere near 200 for a small car.

Here are some photos of when i first drove my Sonic home. I took some pictures of it right away when i got home before i got it all dirty. It was the best feeling ever when i left that dealership with my First Brand New Car!

Yeah, i've had some issues with it. but overall i love my Sonic. I named it "The Fallen Angel". It was the first thing that came to my mind when i was trying to think of a good name for it. This is how it looked when it first was bought and driven home. I went with white as blue wasnt yet available and at that time in March 2012, i was told the blue color would have a long wait yet before it would even start production.

I couldnt wait, didnt have the choice as my current car at the time needed to go. Plus, When i saw the sonic for the first time, it was a White Sedan and i fell in love with it as soon as i saw it! I just knew i had to have one. and the fact ive had a blue, green, and black vehicle, i wanted something different this time around. Thus the Summit White Sonic.

PS: The Silver Sonic you see in the far right photo, that is my brothers brand new Sonic he bought for himself. He got a LT2 Sedan also after trading in his old 2008 Aveo Sedan that was in need to be gone! He loves his new car too!

Very true. Mine cost $80 when most other places do it for $100-$150. Dealership said they'd do it for $199.

Don't worry about prices. If it's a good deal in your area then it's a good deal.

I'm sure cars cost less in different states/areas also.

But here is my problem, i did some research and their isnt a Tint Specialist Shop Anywhere near my city, all of them are at least an 1 and a half hours away or more. None in town from doing a search on the internet.

Fremont and Sandusky aren't any closer than an hour and a half? I did a search for "Norwalk, OH tint shops" and several hits came up within 30-45 minutes away.

With turn-by-turn navigation (if you have it) or google maps with directions on a smart phone, there really is no excuse these days not to explore. I love to drive so I get out of town as much as I can. I also drive a ton for my job.

25 years is very good for a tint shop. Typically they come and go, but that kind of staying power probably means they do a quality job. I'm going to guess they charge between $150-175. If that's the case, then it would be well worth it to make the drive there.
