2015 Chevy Sonic Vent Selection

I have a 2015 Chevy Sonic with 74k on it. The vent selector is stuck on front blast and I cant change it to feet or defrost. Awhile back I had it looked at and the dealer said it was the whole AC box. Is there anything else it could be?

Does the knob turn freely with no resistance? Sometimes the selector cable falls off.

No, the selector is on front and I can turn it as far as splitting between feet and front but no further. Like something is jammed maybe? I think the dealer said one of the vent blades was broken in pieces and that's why it won't move.

I am certain these things don't operate by cable anymore. It's probable that the climate control box is not operating properly and needs to be replaced. It's a 2015 so you may be able to find a replacement at junk yard or on Ebay.
