AUX IN Not Loud Enough!

When using an Mp3 player via the Aux In, the volume is not nearly loud enough.

I've tried two different Mp3 players, both made by SanDisk, the Sansa Fuze and the Sansa Clip. I am using a stereo jack. The EQ on the Mp3 players is set to "normal" and the volume is turned all the way up.

I've tried various settings on the Mp3 players, changing the EQ, Loudness and other output settings. Nothing works

I've searched this forum, the Sansa forum and I've googled it extensively.

Anybody else have this problem? Anybody find a workaround?

It's working normally and is just a consequence of trying to use a weak headphone signal to transmit audio to another device.

I ran out and did some testing to confirm with an old Samsung YP-T8 and a positively ancient Creative Nomad Jukebox (it predates the 1st iPod by at least a year).

Connected to the Samsungs' headphone out, the volume on the mp3 player had to be cranked all the way up and I also had to turn the radio's volume up a few notches to reach a comfortable total volume.

I then switched to the old Juke's line-out (meant for connecting to other audio devices) and had to turn the radio's volume down to reach the same level as before.

The radio's aux-in is clearly designed to safely accept the more powerful line-out signal while requiring more amplification of a headphone signal. This is actually pretty standard for aux-in connections as far as I've tried to use them before. If your Sonic has a USB port, you're better off tossing your music files onto a drive and using that.

Pick up a DAC. They help boost signal strength. Should amp up the volume quite a bit.

The volume on my Mp3 player is turned all the way up, as is the volume on the radio. Still not loud enough. My Mp3 player doesn't have a separate line out, just the headphone jack.

I'm going to throw some music files on my phone and see if I get the same results. Will report back . . .
