BG Fuel/Air Induction Cleaning...Is is Worth It?

I went to the dealer today to have a couple things checked out. Among one of them was to have ticking injectors checked out and the occasional rough idol. The service manager checked my car out, drove it and returned with confidence that my Sonic was running right and all was well. He then told me his personal car was the Cruze 1.4l. He stated he felt similar things in his car and told me to try this BG engine cleaning service they offer for $100. Im at about 22k miles and wondered if anyone has tried this product yet and if it was worth it.

I know what your talkin about. I sprayed out my throttle body in my rs at 25k for doing the same thing. Runs like new, but I used b12 chemtool.

1.8's have noisy injectors. It's not a problem. ( assuming you have a 1.8)

The Toyota dealer tried this dirty throttle body crap with my parents highlander. It was spotless. Just a scam.

Not saying yours is a scam but you can do it yourself a lot cheaper

I don't know how relevant it is, but I've driven many vehicles that ended up with over 200K on them and not once have I used fuel injector cleaner of any kind on a vehicle.

IMO if you somehow have dirty injectors the only way to fix them is to replace them. I've rebuilt and cleaned many many carburetors but no once have I seen injector cleaner stop an injector from leaking or spraying incorrectly.


Just give the guy at the dealer the $100 and leave because it's not much different than having them actually do what they proposed.


Dirty throttle bodies happen, but the injector cleaner is B.S.
