Cruze 1.4L brake recall

What are the odds this should apply to 2012 Sonics also?

"General Motors is issuing a recall for the Chevrolet Cruze after receiving reports of 27 low-speed crashes that were allegedly caused by a brake assist issue.

The Problem: The power brake boosters could potentially fail, requiring drivers to put extra pressure on the brake pedal to in order to bring the car to a complete stop.

The Fix: Dealers will replace a microswitch in the power brake vacuum pipe assembly for free.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 292,879 model year 2011-2012 Chevrolet Cruzes equipped with the 1.4-liter turbo-four paired to the six-speed automatic transmission and built at the automaker’s Lordstown Ohio Assembly plant."

I was wondering about this myself. I suspect if the Sonic was affected, seems to me it would make sense to lump the Sonic in with the Cruze recall as well. I guess we'll see!

Only makes sense if the sonic uses the same exact parts and system. I have my doubts that it does.

have the dealer guys cross refrence the part numbers if you're really concerned. but i'm sure they'll issue a recall to you if you are under that umbrella
