Will the chevy cruze 18 inch wheels fit on the sonic?

They will be heavy, but yes, they will fit. There's somebody selling them fairly close to me and I've thought it over but I just don't want something that heavy.

The 18s will be fine. Personally, I'd prefer some cruze 17s, but we have the same drive train so it's not like the weight is actually going to be a problem. If that's what you want then I say go for it. I haven't seen any actual pics of a sonic wearing them.

FirstOrbit has a set on his Sonic and they look pretty good on his sedan. I don't remember him saying there where any adverse effects to mpg by going with them.

And the Cruze Eco wheels are lighter in weight than any of the other Cruze or Sonic wheels. I know there are pictures, maybe AndrewGS build thread?

There may or may not be a loss in mpg going with the 18s, but from what I can gather they are at least 24 lbs and 7.5 wide. Tires look to be 20-22. At 7lb+ per corner as compared to my 15s, I think I would notice the difference somewhere along the line.

Thanks, it's been quite a while since I've hung out with him. The Cruze Eco wheels would be my choice of Cruze wheels.

My 18's fortunately weigh in at 18.5 lbs.

You will also take a "sporty" hit in fuel economy. I have 18" factory wheels/tires on my Impala LTZ and they are bigger and heavier than I like. An 18" wheel on a Sonic or Cruze is ridiculous in my opinion. You also need an adequate engine to match the wheel size.

Nah don't think so.
But they do look very good. Would love to have verified weight for wheel tire combo of the same diameter tire as the 17" RS wheel / tire combo.

Not according to GM. They are 18" LTZ And there is no reference to an RS for 2013 or 2014.


******My apologies, RS is a LTZ Option, but wheels are part of the LTZ trim level. Should make find a nice set a little easier. Really like this wheel!

So I'm really really close to getting a set of 18" cruze ltz wheels. Did the OP or anyone else land up putting those on a Sonic? I have a 2012 hatch, bone stock, any adverse effects?

I know mpg will take a hit, I'm ok with that as long as it isn't drastic. I'm getting a little under 40mpg now - I'll be happy as long as I'm in the mid 30's.

Any advice?

Went for the 18" Cruze ltz wheels. Forgot to take a pic after I put the rear one on but so far I'm digging the look. Here's a pic of before (15" stock) and the new ones.
