Door handles easy to remove/install?

Wondering because I want to get the ones with the chrome strip and do you have to take the whole door apart to remove and put rhe new ones in or what?

Since no one's grabbed this yet I'll answer in general terms. I've removed/replaced door handles before, just not in my Sonic. Last car I had the door was frozen shut and I could hear it opening as I carefully pulled on the handle, creaking and slowly cracking the ice, then SNAP, broken door handle.

You will need to remove the door panel, carefully peel back the plastic sheet, disconnect a couple control rods and remove a couple nuts. It's not really difficult, just takes a little time. Go slowly and understand what you're removing and how it goes back, take pics with your cell phone to help you remember.

Thanks for all the info.. well went to the dealer yesterday to order the handles and they called and told the delaer that that part is not ready to be released yet.. I was like wtf.. why advertise it on your GM accessories website if its not ready to be sold yet to the public? Left mad
