Posted a few weeks ago about trying to replace my cruise control accel/decel switch that wouldn't stay in the housing. Was told (and confirmed by searching) that the only way to replace this was to tear apart your steering wheel, remove the airbag, and replace the entire assembly. Seemed pretty silly to me, so I wanted to see if there was an easier way.
Check the link for step by step instructions for switch replacement without touching your steering wheel. Please note that this guide is only for if your physical mechanical piece is popping out and won't stay in. This has nothing to do if you have some kind of electronic failure. All in all, this took me about 15 minutes once I figured out what I had to do with the new switch.
