Hey guys,
I am sure this has been brought up...but GM performance announced that they were going to sell the LTG 4cyl turbo through gm performance. Now, thats all fine and dandy but it is apparently set up to be longitudinally mounted for RWD applications which kinda screws us...
...But they offer it in the FWD 2015 Malibu and, according do GM, it uses the same dimensions as other ECOTEC engines. Not sure how this would play out, but I am just wondering if it really would be possible to get this engine mated up to a manual and into our cars.
In the Malibu it only pumps out 259hp with 295 ft/lbs but gm perf. is selling it with 272hp so there is certainly room for more power then our lil 1.4's.
I know that you can pretty much accomplish anything if you have enough money...but I was wondering if someone with more know-how has looked into this at all?
I wouldnt even have enough money at this point in time to get the engine, but a couple years down the road when I pick up another car it might be fun to try and get some more serious power out of the sonic when I wouldnt have to worry about it breaking.
Just a thought.
