Ok more specific. When on trifectas full tune. In high boost setting (20psi) wide open throttle from 3k roms on to Redline. 45 degree temps outside low humidity, intake air temps about 55 degrees f. 93 octane. Kn filter only mod. What should I be seeing for timing? Should I be seeing 25° advance or should I be seeing 15, 10, 5, 0, negative numbers?
I'll go into it a little more when I get a few answers.
If anyone can tell me what they are getting it would be helpful.
Also on the trifecta tune with the same parameters, on stock setting (cruise control on) I'm seeing 12.5°advance
From 3k to redline timing adv is going to change dramatically. It most certainly shouldn't be static. If it is I'd steer far clear from their tuning and never look back
3k your likely at your 20psi full boost full load, timing adv will be lower here (someone can chime in with what they are seeing or possibly post a log if Trifectas SW even lets the end user see the data)
As the RPM raise you should see the timing start to ramp up.
I have never tuned a Sonic so I cannot speak to what they like for timing where. Hope that there will be a open source option in the future.
There is a lot to take into consideration as the ECU will also adjust timing for things like lower octane, knock, humidity, temp, etc...
I suggest reading some online articles on EFI Tuning this will help you get a better understanding on how things work
