What colors go well with Victory Red

Want some opinions. Want to put some racing stripes on my car. I know black goes well with red, but I don't want just a black and red car., want to vary it a bit. And I don't really like white and red together.

I found a site that you can have white graphics with a black outline. I think that would look cool. Bright red is a hard color to match up to others colors--I should have got a white or black sonic--those go with everything!

What other colors would go well with Victory Red?

The red car is already a black and red car. Unless you plan to go over all the black trim, you're talking really about adding a third color. Plus there's the chrome, which is sort of a third color already. Not that there's anything wrong with adding a fourth, but it is starting to get busy.

I'd suggest going over all of the chrome or all of the black, or even both, with your "second" color, as a possible option.

Personally I killed my chrome, and went with black and white as accents... but those have been my "family colors" for my business for a long time, so it was kind of a no brainer. Plus I already had a roll of Duck Tape in black and white checkerboard.

Here's a trick, get a sample of victory red (they sell it in little bottles at Pep Boys/Advance/Autozone et al) and go to a paint store, find a paint that's a very close match, and see what colors they say goes with that. There are details to this that most of us can't really define, one shade of blue will go with a some shades of red and not with others, and unless you're good at that sort of thing, you can end up picking a color that clashes when something similar would work great and not cause people to shudder for reasons they can't put a finger on.

I think you shouldn't add to much to the car, you might make it rice.

Go to a body shop...... Show them the red paint code in your spare tire well.

Ask them to show you the paint mix for your red. It will have other colors added that give the red depth. Any of those color additives would by themselves would look nice on parts of your car.

Iirc, my summit white has has a small ratio of a type of sky blue. Makes me almost wish I had tried baby blue accents.opcorn:

Chevy Sonic Faded Side Graphics Kit

I was thinking of maybe doing the 2 lines above wheel dark blue or silver--haven't decided. I want a little bit of color, just don't want my car to look tacky. Alot of cars I have been looking at have 2 accent colors--they look pretty good. So I need another color to go with black and red.

Swordsmith, I like your idea about heading to a paint store--good idea, yeah I am not good at matching colors- ask my wife!

I was also planning on getting rid of a lot chrome---just making is black. The only chrome I am planning on keeping it around the headlights and the words.
