Here is our first attempt at a MPG competition. Before we get to any rules,
please remember this. This is more or less for fun and data collection. Follow all state and local laws regarding safety and driving habits. Don't back traffic up for a tenth or two better MPG. In other words, drive safely.

Also, please try to keep non-MPG posts down to a minimum.

All fill ups that occur this month can be posted here in this format. Not following the format or missing data will result in data not being collected. I will of course attemp to fix, or reply.

The format is as follows:

Style: (hatch or sedan)
Trim: (LT, LTZ, RS and so on)
Engine: (1.8 or 1.4)
Transmission: (AT, MT)
Tune: (none, budget, premium)
Octane: 87/9x if you use E85 leave blank
E85: yes/no
Miles: xxx.x
Gallons: xx.xxx
Tank: (city, highway, mixed)
Notes: type anything you would like us to know. Like this is fun or stinks on ice. Better info would be temp or other factors.


I would like to thank Insanika for making the excel spreadsheet. What seems easy came out just like I thought. A giant PITA. She tried different formats and spent hours on this. Thank you Insanika! :banana:

Is miles for mikes on your car or just for that trip, and I'm assuming gallons consumed between fillups

The miles are the miles on a full tank, using the trip.The gallons are the amount required to fill up to the .001 gallons like on your receipt.

I'll be filling up tomorrow, and will enter. I have one idea that maybe can be implemented next month. Can you list the denominations by themselves in post #2? That way we can just quote it and fill in the blanks. Otherwise, I have a feeling you will get a lot of entries that look like this:

Pre, I was going to have a copy and paste version then thought better. I figure people can wear their big boy pants on their own. I am a pretentious prick enough on here. I actually have faith people will do the right thing.

But, people can use yours

And when people goof, I can walk them through it and others can read it and learn.

I'm just excited to help get this off the ground. And again, I'm a big dork for Excel. It's almost therapeutic. I'm sure after this month we will have to revamp many things but that's half the fun!

I'm not looking forward to this next tank, but I will do my damnedest.

A copy and past format outline would be nice. It was a pain but not overly stressful to delete and renter everything on my phone and I imagine those without a keyboard will have a less enjoyable time. When I tried vinces it didn't show up because it was quoted.

If eric leaves in his big injectors I just might have a chance of winning haha.

Oh BTW I only caused 3 accidents this time, I guess some people don't expect you to go 45 on the interstate (in reality its 60-65 unless I get lucky and sneak behind a semi going slower, or no ones around)
