Earlier vehicles used to have a protectoplate, kind of like a build sheet, on top of the gas tank. Not sure if they do that still.

I'm not sure what the window sticker would show or prove. It's just a generic printout of what equipment the vehicle was built with and its EPA fuel mileage numbers. The only thing unique on a window sticker is the VIN.
