You really don't need the hard charge tube for meth though. DDM also has the throttle body spacer with fittings as well.

How much of an issue is the tube for changing the oil filter? Just want to know because I can't change my own oil so someone else will have to. Just need to know so I can plan ahead.

It's two clamps as far as I can tell. Not hard at all, just an extra process you'll have to go through to get it done.

Just did my first oil change today since I installed the charge tube. No big deal. I just loosened the hose clamp at the charge tube where it meets the silicone coupling at the throttle body and wiggled it out. Then I flexed it over towards the battery and it was business as usual.

Preloaded has pics in his build thread (as well as other have posted their pics in this thread) and your quote of his is describing his oil change..... He had to remove one end of the tube coupler and push it to the side a little bit to get the filter/cap out.

You didnt remove the entire pipe? just the throttle body clamp and move the pipe still attached to the bottom?

Did my first O/C after hard charge pipe and I removed the whole thing...but still, not that big of a deal...2 pipe clamps and remove....it actually gave me more room to work than trying to work around the stock rubber tube.

There were 2 tinnerman screws that hold the plastic elbow of the charge tubing onto the subframe. After removing the subframe the 2nd or 3rd time, I said "screw" it and didn't put them back in. So mine moves easily out of the way with just the TB clamp undone.

I'm curious if that will be the same for you.

That is how our tester is right now, as I keep pulling out tubes and fitting intercooler piping, it is much easier to just leave those 2 out. Mine has been like that for a while now and it doesn't seem like it is adversely affecting anything.
