so its just a relief valve for pressure when you let off the throttle. I guess then that manufactures do not use them because of the noise?

Well you cant run it without the tune..and the tune will void it - if found by the dealer.

No but seriously it does make that sound....but the reason its there is so the turbo doesnt surge...if you google "turbo surge" you can read more about it.

The BOV adds ZERO horse power.
