Happy New Year everyone! I want to thank everyone who has given me advice and support on this forum. Your guidance has truly been invaluable on my mission to repair my car myself. I appreciate you.
Back from a much needed break...was frustrated and desperate and making stupid mistakes, so I had...
I've heard several people and watched several videos suggesting I pour Marvel Mystery Oil into each cylinder and let it soak and can possibly help crack the crank loose. Btw, I'm about to upload a pic showing where timing marks on cam sprockets and crank sprocket. Crank shaft timing mark not in...
The crank sprocket is not in line with the cam sprockets. I was gonna put it at tdc so I could work on getting the cams lined up but the crank won't turn at all forward or backwards. If I can't get TDC I can't move on to sync cams.
So...what would one do if, let's say, the cams were rotated without the belt on then saw your post literally saying never to do that bc valves smacking pistons???🤦♀️
So remove belt to rotate cams till they line up and insert tool into slots. Replace belt then rotate crank. If still locks, rotate cams again. Gonna try this today. Thanks.
It was a bad resistor. The ceramic clay coating was all but gone. Ordered one on Amazon and easily replaced it. Fan turns on and of as it should, no more issues. Problem solved.
Crank rotates counter clockwise about 180° then gets stuck. Can't rotate far enough to line up arrows. The cams do not line up. Can't fit the tool in slots. What do I do?
I need your advice if you can about to get started on the car. I already turned the crankshaft to tdp. The marks line up on the sprockets do not line up. I removed the valve cover and I can see that the cams are not lined up. So I'm starting off with my timing off. What do I do next?
Hi, I need...
BTW, what does the cam sprocket locking tool look like? Because what you're describing doesn't sound like what I have. I have the kit with the 2 metal pieces that fit between the 2 sprockets.
Thank you so much for posting this! I finally got my car put back together. But I'm still very, very insecure about how I set the timing. I just know it's still off. I could feel it in my gut. These are the most detailed instructions I've gotten and exactly what I needed. I'm going outside right...
I took a break from the timing situation to work on a leaky water pipe and replace my catalytic converter and Tearing out y after replacing my drive shift seal. I'm leaking transmission fluid again. And there's a noise coming from the front wheel. I think maybe I didn't push the cv axle in all...
