rattle/light knock from right rear, theories?

Have an intermittent rattle/light knock from rear (right side) over rough pavement. Started quite awhile ago, and is slowly getting worse. Sounds almost like a loose strut top, but it isn't a sharp knock. Noise is not constant, and not upon accel/decel. Only over rough pavement and some...

    silver wheel paint color

Have searched on here and have not been able to find a recommended color for touching up the factory silver wheels. I happen to have a bottle of some very close (see pic), but it is discontinued. What are you all using for touch-up paint for your wheels? And are all the silver wheels the same...

    discolored wheel center caps

What are you guys doing about this problem? Mine are discolored after 23k miles. Am thinking about just painting them silver (or maybe blk plasticote). I have the stock silver painted wheels.

Broke the **** out of the seat heater module.

It is located in a very vulnerable place right at the front of the seat. I guess I bashed it with my heel when I had my workboots on. Had to have a new module. Got it done under warranty.

    Tire Review: General Altimax RT43

Tires are a difficult thing to choose, so I thought I'd help. Here is my take on my set of Altimax RT43. Size = 215/60-15 on stock alloys Miles on tires = 13,258 I drive mostly highway with a 50 mile round-trip commute daily, with occasional fun back-road romps. So here goes: PRO...

    One year update

LT Sedan, 1.4L, 6 spd 20,296 miles OK, so I've had the car for a year now, and put over 20k miles on it. I really like it, would even say I have grown to love it. It has been the perfect replacement for my old car ('01 Prizm). The Sonic looks great, drives good, and is getting excellent gas...

    GM lowering struts and shocks

Added the GM Performance lowering struts and shocks to my Eibach lowered LT sedan. Part numbers are listed below. Wanted to make a longer entry than the brief note I made before. After a week driving on them I am glad I got them. The car feels just about right now. It still leans a bit too...

15,000 mile notes and a couple of annoyances

15,000 miles on my 2017 and no problems. Just did tire rotation. Turns out you need a tire sensor relearn tool. Just so you guys know: The $20 one from Amazon works just fine, no reason to spend more. Have purchased the GM Performance FE3 dampers. Should get those installed in a couple of...

Warning. Never run less than 89 octane in the turbo.

In our shop right now is a 1.4t with only 30k miles with a broken piston due to severe detonation (spark knock). I saw the busted piston and talked to the tech. This is the same GM master tech I go to with my car. It is very important to use at least 89 octane in these engines. My tech...

RS steering flash - FAIL on 2017

Has anybody been able to get the RS steering calibration flashed into a 2017? I think they might have changed things. Tried this at GM shop using a 2016 RS VIN. All is good until the computer asks for the steering gear part number and gives a long list from which to choose. Did this happen...
