2011-2015 Chevrolet Sonic GM Service Manual

I realize this is an old thread, but I just want to say thanks! I doubt I would have found the wiring fault in my 2012 without this. No more codes and the fuel gauge is back to working.

Fuel Gauge Inop but Sender OK - What Wiring & Interconnects to Check?

Here's a solution for anyone else that has this problem. The "low reference" wire [pin B BK/L-GN) in the fuel tank harness had corroded and broken free of the terminal in the connector that plugs into the body harness interface behind the passenger side rear wheel. After removing the harness and...

Fuel Gauge Inop but Sender OK - What Wiring & Interconnects to Check?

Hey Guys, 2012 1.4L Hatchback. Had an intermittent fuel gauge that finally went open circuit throwing P0463. Dropped the tank and it's not the sender. Digging further, I also have secondary DTCs regarding EVAP and Tank Pressure. Being all physically related to that area, I'm thinking this is a...

Needing help/advice on my sonic I just bought

Just curious, are you sure your old turbo was bad? 4 years and 40k miles ago we had a valve cover failure on ours. Not the intake, just the factory valve cover. Replaced that, rough idle was immediately fixed and no other related issue until last week when the rupture disc in the cover opened...

    1.4T PCV Repair Follow-Up w/ Tips

This is a follow-up to a thread I started recently regarding the dreaded PCV failure on a road trip with our 2012 LTZ 6-Spd. Had typical failure indications- rough idle, "belt squeal" which is really vacuum getting pulled past the crank seal, and eventually a check-engine light. This all...

1.4 PCV Issue on Road Trip - Damage if we drive?

Well, the good news is we made it without any apparent damage. Hope the crank seal holds out... Just checked my records and I replaced the valve cover in June of 2018, and the crank seal required replacement in April of 2019. Starting the tear-down now; I'll create a separate thread.

1.4 PCV Issue on Road Trip - Damage if we drive?

Hey guys, 2012 Sonic, 1.4 6-speed, 130k. A few weeks ago we had a rough idle, no CEL, the issue disappeared later that day. Now we’re on a road trip and got a CEL and rough idle after a very low speed stall today (think releasing clutch prematurely at key-off). We’re pulling vacuum at the valve...

Reservoir Hose to Tee - 3 versions? (Updated)

Here's an update now that parts are in.... Initially we had a leak on the passenger side, and this turned out to be a bad o-ring/gasket on the t-stat housing. Easy/cheap fix though a battle getting at the lower bolts. A week later we had a leak from the driver's side. This turned out to be a...

Reservoir Hose to Tee - 3 versions? (Updated)

Hey guys, Fighting another coolant leak on our 2012 LTZ hatchback M/T (1.4). It looks like the original heater/coolant hoses are starting to swell and leaking at the tee behind the passenger side of the engine. I've found the heater inlet and outlet hose p/n's (96958216 & 96958209 in case it...
