    button on gear shift knob

    Silver button (2012 Sonic) remains all the way in after putting the car in park, which makes it impossible to remove keys! My son shoved a key in and forced it out. The dealer wants $650 to replace the entire gear shift. Help. What/who could fix this for me? Have you experienced this problem?

    old Sonic, new member

    2012 Inferno Orange Sonic Hatchback, Auto transmission (purchased Dec 2011) Just hit 50,000 miles not the typical car for an elementary school teacher, but it does catch the student's eyes Really like the cargo space and visibility. Will eventually post an avatar of the car.
