    fans running constantly

Glad to help. Should definitely do combustion test to verify that the head gasket repair was successful, since it's not guaranteed to be (it's not a trivial job).

    fans running constantly

I just had this issue and replacing the thermostat returned the fans to normal operation. You may also want to consider flushing your coolant, making sure to disconnect every possible hose to check for sludge. If sludge is present, Prestone Radiator 2 in 1 Flush and Oil Degreaser helps...

    Headgasket replacement

I found a used engine from a scrap yard from the same year and with the same transmission as the one already in my car (2012 1.8 5 Speed, non VVT). However, it has 95K on it, so is definitely approaching or within head gasket failure range. Also, I don't know how this engine was driven or cared...

    Headgasket replacement

Hello, I hope the day finds you well. I'm about to order some parts and tools for replacing the headgasket in my '12 Sonic LS 1.8. The car has 130K on it and has been driven lightly its entire life. The combustion test turned from blue to yellow, so I don't have a choice. The car runs great...

    Airbag safety inspection recall.

Was wondering if anyone went in for an airbag safety inspection and if their steering started to pull afterwards? Dealership said they "clocked the wheel b/c it was a few degrees off" before stating that it's impossible to clock the wheel b/c there are guides when I asked if they could...

    Oil cooked by 3k

Ever since purchasing my 2012 LS 2.5 yrs ago now it has consistently cooked it's Mobile-1 5w-30 by 3k. Shouldn't I be making it to at least 5k? It does leak about a quart a month though I always top it off and never let it get to the top of the lower hash marks on the dip stick. Thank you.

    Engine cleaning and sensors

I need to clean off oil from my engine b/c it's gross and I need to find where the leak is coming from (I'll use dye if this doesn't work, needs to be cleaned anyway). I was wondering what sensors should be covered so they don't get wet when rinsing? Are there any in particular that are...

    Tech2 or MDI/GDS for 2012 Sonic

After three alignments and steering angle resets and/or calibrations I still have a hard pull and to avoid the dealer's recommendation of replacing the steering module, column, and shaft for 1400 I figured I may better give it a shot myself (been dealing with this pull for over a year now ever...
