I maintain my engine well and praying that it lasts for 100,000 more miles. but when it finally fails me, I want to throw a k20 engine into it. I've seen some videos of people doing it but barely any resources on it. anyone with experience or knowledge on this?

Engine noise could be anything. These engines have a chain which can cause rattling and bad idle/rev if you have low tension. The EVAP canister Purge solenoid valve can be going out aswell. Your ignition system could be faulting somehow. I'd check your spark plugs, ignition coil and wiring...
