further discussion with ChatGPT (attached) I called the dealer and was told 0.028 gap and they had asked me for vin?? I wonder if they just looked up the owner's manual but this spec has been updated since. Anyone have a service manual to confirm.

    a/c leak

The car is 10 years old. I am Thinking I may consider replacing coolant lines myself if refrigerant runs out as it looks very doable. The tubing looks like it has O rings in it already. However, I think there is an o ring on the pressure sensor and one at the Drier/receiver . I will have to move...

    a/c leak

I looked at YouTube video and looks like can be done in an hour but the labor for this job is 1.5 -2 hrs and the mechanic has said 2 hrs.

    a/c leak

Too bad there is no clamp that can be placed over the joint..That would have been soo much easier. Anyhow, if anyone knows the approximate cost would be helpful.

    a/c leak

MY a/c has a leak. There is a rubber tube (with yellow label) attached to metal tubing at each end. The lower end connection between rubber and metal tube has a small leak. Is there a clamp I can put there. Can it be crimped further? If I take to shop, about how much should it cost ?

    air conditioner

I have ODB2 attached and seems to read ECT ok. 24 degrees celcius and goes up gradually to 110 so I might assume it is fine for now.

    air conditioner

I placed a jump on temp sensor connector at the bottom of radiator and the fan didn't go on so likely that is not the problem. Where is the other temp sensor. I see what looks like 2 sensors. One on thermostat housing and another next to it on engine block..Which of the 2 is the engine coolant...

    air conditioner

well, new fan received. The relay at fuse box is receiving call to turn on the fan. When I jump the relay, the fan goes on. The relay was checked in another slot and works, Yet when the relay is in the slot the fan doesn't go on?? Wiring must be good if I can jump the relay and fan works..I am...

    air conditioner

I got a "call" at the relay in the engine compartment (tested with multimeter) and the relay is good. However, when I checked the 3 wire connector (connects to resistor relay) of the fan there was no power there? When I turn the A/c on there is 14V power there ?

    air conditioner

yesterday, I let the engine heat up to 113 degrees Celcius. The fan is suppose to run at low speed at 99 degrees and at high speed at 109 so the fan should have gone on at some speed but neither low or high speed came on. The only time the fan goes on is when a/c is on. I have bought an OBD...

    air conditioner

I believe the Sonic Radiator fan runs at low speed and high speed. Low and high speed both have their own pathway ( fuse and relay). Since I replaced the high speed fuse the radiator fan started to run but before that, the fan did not work..Not even at low speed as far as I could tell. Could...

    air conditioner

You are soo correct. last night I saw this YouTube video sent to me by someone who knows a bit about cars. ave There was a 40A fuse that looked fine but when I replaced it with another, the fan is coming on and the a/c compressor is not cycling rapidly. Everything seems to work OK. I have...

    air conditioner

Is there a way to test if the car is recording correct temp and will run the fan when temp reaches the threash hold. I don't want to run the engine until temp light in dash goes on and damages my engine.

    air conditioner

Well. I myself hooked up wires directly from battery terminal to the radiator fan and what do you know...the radiator fan works. Any idea what I should look at next to figure out why the radiator fan is not being activated? Thanks.

    air conditioner

Today I reduced the freon and the compressor was running consistently without going off but the air in the car was hot...So I decided to take to Jiffy Lube in Sardis, B.C. to have the system refilled properly. They told me that there might be a slight leak in the system but refilled it (They...
