The Sticker Guy
So earlier this week I ran into the first issue my car had ever given me after 43k flawless miles.
I let the magic smoke out of my coil pack. Was a mile from home and she just shut off.
If you have ever smelled the electrical " magic smoke" you know what it smells like, and when I opened the hood I have a over whelming smell of it.
Track it down to the coil pack. It was fired.
Replaced with the autozone dura last coil, ironically stamped with the gm logo. Replaced the fuse and off I go.
So I gapped my plugs to .035 @ 4k miles. I'm not sure if it effected the failing of this coil but it is worth mentioning this to fellow owners.
Again. Not sure if plug gap did it but be aware if it
