I think I remember reading the engine is made in Hungary ? Is that correct ?

Mine was made in Hungary. Right before I bought my car I was wandering around the dealership comparing some of the Sonics that they had and I'm pretty sure I saw a few that were made in Korea too.

Mine is the 1.8l non-flex fuel engine in a 20015 LS .

Where would I look to see where it is made ?

Mine is a 2014 LS. It shows where the engine was assembled in the right hand corner of the window sticker, that is if you bought your car new. Not sure how you could find out if you bought it used, maybe by the vin #? My 2015 LS sticker (1.8L/5sp) says engine from Mexico with manual tranny from Austria.
