I have owned a 2012 sonic LS for about 5 years. Unfortunately I was involved in a wreck, which put my poor sonic out of commission. I recently bought a 2017 sonic LT, and it came with a newer design touchscreen with MyLink.
I decided to put the system from my old car into the new one, with the exception of the actual stereo as I like MyLink. I am now realizing that getting to the back of the stereo is no where near as easy as it was with the 2012.
I have a friend that works in the parts department of a chevy dealer help me find the steps. From the looks of it, to get to the back of the stereo you have to pull the center console to expose 2 screws holding the climate control in. From there you have to pull the climate control, which lets you pull out the stereo.
This is insane.
Also, there is almost no info on this wiring harness. This is a two connector wiring harness, rather than being the large connector with the latch that holds it locked in.
