i have a 2012 chevy sonic 1.4T with 205000 miles on it. its been a great car until the last few months.
about a month ago i was driving through town and all of a sudden it started smoking very badly, white smoke. it looked like i was driving down a gravel road. then it cleared up and was fine. than a few weeks ago it did it again and also cleared up. than monday it started spiting and sputtering while driving down the interstate, no smoking. it idles fine and runs good up to around 35 mph and than starts misssing.
iv been running the pcv fix(from cruizekits) for the last year of so and i checked the check valve and it was clogged so i replaced it with my spare and it ran the same as before. got home and checked the valve and it was blown, i can blow through it both ways. called cruzekits and he sent me 2 upgraded replacements and the first one blew just like the replacement i had.
if i install the blocked check valve i have positive pressure from the dip stick.
If i install the blown check valve i have high negative pressure.
dont know if maybe my glued in plug failed in my intake
I called my local mechanic and told him what it doing, first thing he wants to do is pull out the cruizekit and replace the intake manifold and the valve cover and than start trouble shooting.
Any body hear have any advice before i go that route?
Thanks for any help here
