Ok have had for 2 yrs at 55k turbine shaft broke had replaced under warranty. Now has a recall on it. Check engine light keeps going off and on and throwing code p0171 bank 1 system too lean. Cleaned mass air flow need to know what the majority of the issues with other sonics with this code and also have read that struts and mounts go bad because I have a serious rattle in the front when I hit small bumps. Any and all info helpful..

I'm really newbie when it comes to car repairs but if cleaning the MAF sensor isn't clearing the P0171 code, there might be some air leaking/sucking. I had this problem too and I heard a hiss coming from where I installed my oil catch can. I basically secured it properly and my code went away. You might want to just make sure everything is secured from the moment air reaches the intake to the engine.
Also, that serious rattle going over bumps you're talking about is the front sway bar end links being poorly designed. This happened to me and I got a recall notice on this. So I took my car into the dealership where it was replaced. You can also get aftermarket sway bar end links.
