Well, the 2013 left the corral
76K miles, served me fairly well.
I bought the White, knowing that the car would sit outside all its life - figured the paint would hold up better. And indeed it did- BUT, the rust came from within. First noticed the front passenger inside door seam was crusting up, but that had not yet come through to the outside.
Then the driver side Rocker Panel started to bubble up below the front fender seam. Bought paint about 5 years ago, but was able to just “wax” the rust seepage away…. then this year after winter I found the driver’s side front fender had some rust developing along the top of the wheelwell, at first I thought it was dirt, but alas was rust coming from within.
So then I took a closer look at the Rocker Panel and it was beyond repair. Having not worked on Rust Repair since the 80 Citation….. it was time to let the Sonic go.
just funny, hadn’t replaced, plugs, hoses, light bulbs, belts, starter, alternator nor coolant in 12 years and the body rots out
Oh well - traded it in on a new Buick Encore for my wife and now I’m driving the old Encore.
So now I’m looking back at my old Sonic Posts to see how I did the Footwell Lights and Dual Horns - I need to upgrade the old Encore
