I have a 2014 dragon metallic green Chevy Sonic with sun roof. I didn't particularly want a sun roof, but I wanted this green color so didn't have a choice off the lot. A few months ago it was giving me issues because the drain field got clogged after 9 years which created water damage inside the car and my car insurance did not cover the repairs. Now I have a new water issue. I was cleaning the inside of my car a few weeks ago and my hand brushed against the carpet in the hatchback over the spare tire well and I noticed it was wet. I immediately made an appointment with the dealer who fixed the previous water leak and just had it in today. They showed me a CRACK on both sides in the body at the top sides of the hatchback. Water was getting in there. So they sealed it and I'm praying for no rain for the next 48 hours until it completely dries.
Anyway, has anyone else had a CRACK in the body? I'm concerned that the car will eventually crack further and fall apart. I am a retired senior and cannot afford another car. BUT is this a safety issue? The car was new when I purchased it in 2014 and I have not had any accidents with it.
