I have recently started a new job at Fitzgerald Chevrolet in Frederick, MD. I'm a sales consultant, and this is my first sales job. I was informed today that there are a few vehicles that are being discounted way below MSRP because they have been on the lot too long. One of them happens to be a Sonic, but the one I was most impressed with is the Z/28. It is now $15,000 below MSRP. I find that to be completely insane. So, if anyone is looking for one of these cars please let me know and I will be glad to help you.

Ok admittedly I only have read a few reviews of z/28's, but holy cow, that is really expensive!! Granted it has a back seat of sorts, but isn't that corvette territory on price (and performance?). It does look like a total beast however. I tell folks all the time that the REAL muscle car era is NOW. 500hp used to be king of the hill, now its like 700 with that Dodge challenger with the supercharged engine. What does this thing put out?

yeah, the new Z-28 is a BEAST...but if you think it's for regular road duty, you're in for a HUGE let down... it's meant for the track first...

Lol. Luckily I'm not like the stereotypical salesman. I sit here staring at this car all day and today they told me that they are marking it down $15000 below MSRP. And we are not a traditional dealership. So this isn't just some gimmick to get people in the door. Its a legitimate price drop so we can get rid of it. Also the Motortrend article is spot on. This is all about being a track ready road legal car. And not just 1/4 mile track. I mean full on Leguna Seca style racing. The car puts down 505hp from a naturally aspirated 7.0L 426ci V8. Thats less power than a supercharged ZL1, but it has a faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile time, as well as superior handling.

Well one thing is for sure.
If it is a gimmick it will likely only work once because as soon as someone finds out they will be sharing it on the forum via their cellphone.

How many 1.4T Sonic's do you have on your lot and how many are manual?


That's a good way to get people from this forum in your dealer.

We have 9 Sonics on our lot. 8 of them are 1.4t. Only one manual, but the manual is a Black Granite hatchback RS. It happens to be part of the same program that the Z/28 is. We get to discount it 20% below MSRP as a GM rebate because it is our oldest Sonic that we have in stock.
