So basically, like many others, the touch screen on my 2016 just kind of, stopped working. GM wanted to charge me like $800 to replace with a new OEM one, so I decided to upgrade instead, as it'd be cheaper overall. I've decided to go with an OEM+ configuration where I retain as much of the OEM controls and config as possible. I have basically everything else figured out with the Metra 993012G harness, and their steering wheel control module as well. I just need to figure out where to intercept the backup camera input signal to send to my Kenwood DMX7706s. Finding any kind of decent info about the wiring harness and where to intercept it seems far more difficult than any other car I've ever worked on. I've seen that it's possible to intercept it at the HMI module, but others say you have to splice out of the GM harness. Can anyone lend me a hand? I'll splice into the harness if I need to, I just can't find an accurate pinout. I would prefer to find a way to do it without splicing however which is why the HMI intercept sounds better, cause I plan on trading this car in next year for something better, as I kind of super-duper hate this car.
It's a 2016 LTZ hatch with mylink and the glovebox i/o ports if that helps at all.
