So from what I found out, you need to cut the headlight open. No heating around that, they're permasealed.
I also found out that the DRL and sidemarker/parkinglight LEDS are integrated on the same board. It looks like they pull power from two different wires.
The black and red wires send power one LED that normally sits by the sidemarker when the assembled and the other two wires power the 6 or 7 LEDs for the DRL accent strip.
I looked up the wire color for the parking lights for the 12-16 models since there's virtually nothing for 2017+ models and it said that the parking lights positive wire was purple/gray for the Leftside. However, I saw two purple gray wires.
I'm guessing one is for the sidemarkers and one is for the actual DRL and that I wired my RGB LEDs to one for the parking lights and now my DRL only turns on at night if I leave the switch in auto. I'll have to try the 2nd purple/gray wire and see if that fixes the issue.
