The whistle sound is most likely the BCS venting to ATM instead of being routed back into the intake tube. I'm going to plumb it back in so I should know soon if that's it. If not, this turbo makes some odd noises. Lol!

I've played around with bumping it up, but the engine gets noisy above 6,400rpm and triggers the knock sensor. The further away from that rpm you get, the worse the knock retard becomes. Pulling timing does nothing to quell the knock retard either, and it makes me wonder if it's valvetrain noise due to the factory valve springs being marginal.
I've pulled first gear to 7K a few times and it makes the car so much faster, because it doesn't fall on its face going into second, but the risk of a piston colliding with a valve has kept me from continuing that.

Yeah I was thinking valve springs would def be needed, but not too bad of a job. On the RS if I had that turbo I would smack the rev limiter in first everytime at stock limits lol

That was the when I had the GT2056 on there. This EFR should crush that.

I'd imagine a dyno is still a ways away. He's probably wanting to get it running just as he wants it before going to the trouble of getting a dyno run in.

Of course, at the pace Walker is working this could be done by Monday

The Hp peak will be high on this turbo as well because it spools so late

I've been sporadically working on a valve spring solution for these engines. Once we can safely rev to 7-7.5K, a car equipped with this turbo kit will be a force to be reckoned with.
