Adding a 4ch Amp and Powered Subwoofer to Factory Stereo

I started with replacing the stock speakers, after searching and comparing i decided to go with Kickers. May go with component speakers at a later time.

Front and Rear:
Kicker DSC674 6.75" D-Series Factory Upgrade Car Speaker

When it came time for an Amp, i wanted something simple and compact.

Amp:
Alpine KTP-445U (ktp445u) Universal Class D 4-Channel Head Unit

I powered the amp with a fuse tap, and ordered some kicker line out converters.

After a few months i was in need of bass, lucky for me found a great deal on craigslist

SUB:
Rockford Fosgate P300-10 Single 10" 300W Powered Subwoofer

One problem i came across, how to hook up the SUB when not having any more channels?. Days of searching i found some Y Adapters.

I ended up splitting one 2ch LOC with 2 Y Adapters (from 2ch to 4ch for all 4 speakers, if that makes any sense), and using the other 2ch LOC for the Powered Sub. Powered the Sub with an 8 Gauge Amp Kit.

Do you get a whining noise out of your front left speaker? I do.

Its funny because i only get a slight whine during the evening, during the day ill be driving with the day lights on and nothing, but once it hits dark i can hear a bit of whine. Im not sure if i might have to reground the amp (making sure it is grounded to bare metal), i did notice the Kicker LOC has a ground brown wire, i might ground those and see if it makes a difference.

You might want to look at (PAC SNI-1 RCA Ground Loop Noise Isolator)

You should take your amp power straight from the battery, run your amp remote turn on off the fuse panel. The thin gauge you're running for the power is starving your amp (and probably the noise source too)
