Anyone know how to install head gasket sealer with bubbling coolant? Involves removing spark plug/s,fuel injector/s, ect..

How do I install this product when all the coolant keeps bubbling out of the reservoir? It's just gonna get blown out with the coolant. I tried this product twice. The first time was a waste bc it got dumped out almost immediately as I mentioned. It didn't get a chance to go through the system. Coolant usually starts bubbling within 5 minutes of starting my car. The second time I removed and left out spark plug #3 (3 and 4 had misfires and oil in the well but I didnt know if I could remove both) before starting but I wasn't sure about how to disconnect the injector or if I did any of it right since it wasn't explained clearly in that video. I noticed it did idle a bit longer before it started bubbling, about 9 minutes into the 15 minute idle. I saw a noticeable decrease in bubbles. Still had some bubbling in tank but not enough to dump the coolant. It was good for a whole month then it started again. I'm confident that if I'd disconnected the fuel injector and removed the thermostat for free flow it would have fixed it. Gonna try again, super flushed cooling system and ready to go but I need to get it right this time. Anyone familiar with this method and if so, can you clarify? Also, how do i remove the thermostat to allow coolant to flow freely when it doesn't detach frome the housing? Is there a way to bypass it? For the record, I know the risks of using these products, I've done the research. That being said, I'm a delivery driver/ traveling CNA. I need to fix this immediately and financially, it's my only option. Appreciate you guys.

Have you checked your coolant for combustion gasses with a tester yet to be sure its even a head gasket problem?

No I thought that was the only reason for bubbles in coolant. What else can cause that?

Could be a bad thermostat or something related that is causing the coolant to overheat and boil.

You can rent the tool at some auto part stores, but you will probably still have to buy the bottle of fluid.

But my car's not overheating. The warning light has never come on. Recently had a P0128 code low coolant temp twice and replaced it twice.

Sooo...combustion leak test was negative. I feel like that's great news. Yay! What could be causing this problem? Was gonna flush the system but when I opened the petcock only a few drops of water came out but the res tank was still full. That's never happened. It always drains right away when I open the petcock.

My guess is the TWO CANS of leak stop plugged the hole. Usually people recommend against ever using that stuff even when it IS a head gasket problem.

You can pull the lower radiator hose to drain the system.

Firstly does the coolant bubble while idling at operating temperature? I would remove the thermostat from the housing, and see if bubbling stops. The car likely wont ever warm up, since its freezing cold out, so you obviously need to replace it eventually.

When I replaced the thermostat in my cruze, the coolant was boiling without ever opening the thermostat.(temp read normal) Not sure if it was stuck closed or had an air bubble. I removed it and ensured it was right side up and that it moved freely. followed proper bleed procedure and it was fine after that.

It doesn't bubble while idling anymore but still overflows out of the reservoir. In my car, the thermostat doesn't detach from the housing, I tried. I unbolted it from the housing assembly but it doesn't pop out of the housing. Also, I've noticed the hose going from the thermostat to the radiator and the one from the radiator to the water pump look enlarged or bloated then shrink back to size when car cools down which means too much pressure building up in the system.Am I right? But the combustion leak test was negative, so what the heck is causing that? And why isn't the coolant being drawn into the radiator?

The thermostat can actually be removed but it is not exactly easy. The spring pressure is holding it in by the two plastic edges on the housing. You can depress the spring and rotate it past the edges/arms holding it in.

The thermostat on my 1.8L sonic wasnt easy. If you don't have a code popping for overheating event from coolant temp sensor. You might have had a slow internal head gasket leak and the head gasket sealer gummed the leak up. The issue now is the water pump might me working harder now since the dealer is throughout the cooling system. I honestly would do a coolant flush, pop the lower water pump hose and empty out the system. Throw in the flush concentrate with 2 gallons of distilled water reconnect the lower water pump hose and run for 15 min. Flush again and just run water through for another 15min. Flush the water and fill system with specified dexcool coolant. I would also recommend running with a bottle of water water as well .
