Aux port question

I have a 2012 sonic with a base radio no mylink.

I noticed today that there is play in the radio aux port. I can move my aux cord when plugged into the radio and feel that it has play.

So can the port be replaced without replacing the whole radio and also would something like this be covered under warranty?

hmm take it in and see if its covered.. they will replace the entire radio.. but ask them not to scratch the dash taking it out and program the radio correctly.

If one takes the radio out and takes it apart one may find the jack where it is soldered on the board loose?
I doubt the the jack is screwed on but if it was one could just tighten it.

Thanks, i'll call the dealership I searched all over for anyone else mentioning this problem but could not find anything. My car has less than 30,000 miles on it seems kind of soon for any radio issues.

I took my factory radio out with about 6k miles on the odometer, did not notice any issues with play in it though. Worst case scenario, if need be I think I still have my stocker laying around I could part with for cheap. Hopefully warranty will kick in with that though. GL

You're talking about the aux port in the top glovebox right? That should definitely be covered under B2B warranty. The module might just be a factory defect or lazy installer who bent the clips. Replacing shouldn't* require reprogramming or removing the head unit, as far as I can tell.

Incorrect. The aux port on us guys w base model cars plugs into the radio directly, there is not usb port, only a headphone jack on the face of the radio.
