b/up camera

I have a 13 RS. Is anyone aware of the amount of work to add a back up camera? I figured it might be easy, well hoping since much is the same. I would think all it needs is to install the camera on the back, run wires and plug into the radio (maybe have GM reprogram the radio to work correctly). Hmm now that I think of it, may need electrical to signal the camera to come when in reverse.....

The 13s came with two different radios (one that supports a back up camera and one that doesn't). If it didn't come from the factory with a camera it probably doesn't support one. You would need to replace the head unit with one that supports a camera and have it flashed to work in your specific car. You would them need to buy the camera assembly and mounting hardware, then run the wiring under the trim from the camera to the head unit. For the power supply you would tap into the reverse light so that it would turn on when the car was put in reverse. It's expensive and very involved. I would suggest buying an aftermarket back up camera from eBay or BestBuy.
