Best Affordable Muffler for 1.8L 5-Speed

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum. I'd like to first off, say thanks for letting me be apart of this group! This is my first official post on here and I have a few questions.

I drive a red 2014 Sonic LT 1.8L 5-Speed. I'm wanting to put a new muffler (not full exhaust system) on it. I'm new when it comes to aftermarket products on cars. Some criteria on what I'd like out of the muffler would be that it have a deeper sound (not make it sound like housefly buzzing around) but not be too awful loud. I don't mind if it's a little bit louder, I just don't want it to be too obnoxious and annoy my wife when we're going down the highway. Also, I'd like for it, if possible, to give my Sonic a little for "umph" when I hit the accelerator.

Another question I have would be: how hard would it be to install just a muffler? I've never changed one on a car before, so I'm curious if it's do-able for a newbie like me and what sizes for the inlets/outlets? Also would I need to buy anything else for the installation i.e. mounting brackets, clamps, etc.

Sorry to bombard you guys with a thousand questions right out of the gate. lol.

I know you have 1.8 but mufflers are the same as far as install
As far as value, check the vendors forum section
Sound, check YouTube for sound clips once you've found a couple options/brands

Deeper sound but not the bee hive sound will be hard to accomplish on a NA 1.8L. The best I could suggest would be something like a super turbo muffler.

A muffler alone will not give you any more oomph. Even an entirely new exhaust system wont give you any more power than stock. The ECM is set to only produce a specific amount of power and that is all it will do unless you change that value in the program.
