Best Way to Mount/Attach Grill Mesh?

I'm gonna be cutting out the grill mesh soon and replacing with some abs mesh I bought, along with striping all the chrome and blacking it all out.

What would be be best way to mount the new grill mesh to the stock grill surrounds? I was thinking of leaving some material from the stock grill left around the edges and zip tying the new mesh to that but I'm not sure how ghetto it would look. Or maybe take some small L brackets and rivet them to the grill somehow? Any ideas?

I hate to tell you this, but it will probably look ghetto. I strongly suggest saving up the money to get a quality product like one of Beastlick's custom grilles. However, if you would rather take the cheaper DIY route, I would PM Beastlick and ask for some tips and pointers. He has more experience with the Sonic's grille than any other member.

His grills are off the hook and amazing looking. Unfortunately I don't wanna drop a whole bunch on a grill. I already have all the supplies to do mine, and I think I may have a few ideas to mount it. Haven't pulled it off yet so I'm not entirely sure any of the ways will work but I'll post updates once do it.

Honestly your best bet is to basically make an overlay to the inside contour of the trim. Then cut out the stock mesh but leave a little around the edges and then glue the overlay to the front.

Hardest part will be the mustache area as it protrudes past the trim.

The flexible automotive/marine sealant work perfect while being permanent but still can flex without breaking.
