Blank Odometer

Battery was dying and the odometer was reading ----. Changed the battery, but odometer is still reading ---.

Unhook battery for around 10-30 minutes. Should reset computer, if not you might have to take it to dealership

Dealer tried re-flashing, but that didn't work. They want to install a new instrument cluster. I declined. Seems drastic to do this, anything else to try?

The cluster owns the module that references mileage, pulling history from the ecm or bcm at start up. so if a hard battery reset and dealer reflash didn't work then probably not...

I know is not good to revive old thread but...
I have the same issue my cluster shows "---" for ODO or TRIP mileage, did you ever knew how to fix it??
I tried the simple methods like disconnecting the battery or pulling certain fuses for a few minutes and that didn’t work at all.

Never figured it out, I didn't try the pulling fuses, but I did read on the Cruze forum that it could be a blown fuse. I am waiting to get a little warmer outside before I start trying things again. If you figure it out, please post an update here.

Yeah, there's a fuse for that.

Back when the 04-06 GTOs came off the trucks, they would have the same thing going on - they came shipped over with 4 or so fuses missing.

I'm in the same boat as you Raul (and everyone else apparently.) I am going to try a few tricks I've read on here, but it seems the only true fix is replacing the whole cluster at a dealer for hundreds of dollars. I'll let you know if I find a quick fix & you let me know if you figure it out, okay?
