Bnr I have a full trifecta tune have had a hesitation in it and was sent a retune and it was better still a hesitation and I was thinking about just up grading to the e85 set up. What is the cost of that thx for the help with my first tune. Any ideas why that is happening runs great when I return it to stock slow but smooth lol

If It's standard full tune with 87oct in the tank then yea, no good.

Yes I ask it to be set up for 87 oct but I have tried to run 91 oct for a while to see if that helped but it made no difference. I really want e85 I have 2 stations near me I like the price and the power. I dont want to wast anymore time on dialing in this tune. Does any one know what it cost to upgrade to the e85 tune through bmr

For pushing the limits on the stock clutch it's a pretty good deal, other than the cost of upgrading the clutch it's an even better deal for the full power E85 tune.

You guys keep saying that, I don't understand it. I run 93, E85, 87, E47, it just doesn't matter, smooth as silk, the only difference is the power available.

I know there is a tune available that's designed strictly for 93 (and one for 91) but surely most tunes, where you don't specify, retain the stock tune's ability to run any octane fuel?

(edit to add) 2013 I have the E85 conversion and added an alcohol sensor which is what lets me do random amounts of ethanol. I also added an aftermarket clutch, burned it out, and added an even stronger clutch, which lets me use the full "red pill" power of E85, if you don't do the clutch you will have to take the lesser "blue pill" which is still pretty hot, and if you don't do the sensor you will have to reflash and do a near total empty tank fillup in order to change from one fuel to the other.

Yes, you're the only one running the ethanol sensor so clearly you can run anything you want and your tune can adjust for 87 to Corn and provide the most power for that octane rating. The rest of us have to either take a power hit and a relearn period with smart octane or run only a specified octane rating and retune every time we swap grades.

I have an automatic transmission. I was just curious if anyone else had an automatic transmission on the fully e85 setup and how it was holding up

Worlds fastest sonic isn't running red pill, its just shifting at appropriate rpms (at least, thats our current guess/hope/excuse)

Your automatic can handle more power than the stock clutched 6 Spd manual so you should have a little more power (if not full power) with E85.

If you haven't checked your spark plug gaps you definately should. I've apparently been running them all tight, from the factory, since I bought the car. I noticed that the more power I added the more hesitation I felt. After regapping them uniformly to .028 it's totally gone.

I'll hopefully find out next month. I ordered everything sans fuel line for Swordsmith's flexfuel setup. With E85 it won't be a toned down blue pill. There's a strong chance there's E85 around 5 miles off my commute. :banana:

The car was smoother but it did not change the hesitation. Im looking forward to seeing your results
