My nephew drove his Sonic through a big puddle (he didn’t think it was a big deal), and the engine ended up drinking a little too much water. Long story short, We had to replace it.
I found a guy on Facebook Marketplace selling a motor, and after some back-and-forth, I bought it. But when I went to install it, the intake was totally different. It looks like it belongs to a 1.6L engine. Now the FB guy is ghosting me, of course. Even though he said I had 60 day guarantee
I’m trying to find the VIN on this engine, but all I see is the engine number: LDE161335537. Did I get scammed with the wrong engine? Can I just swap block heads and make it work, or am I out of luck? Also, where can I check the engine part number to see what this engine actually came from?
