Broke the Rear Wiper Motor

So, wiper was frozen to the rear window and I turned it on. As soon as I noticed it wasn't moving, I turned it off. Just washed the window with snow.

Couple days later I washed the car and noticed the wiper was hanging funny. Decided to test it and it turned on, but the wiper dropped and yay! At least I'll have a clean Chevy emblem.

So, question, anyone ever replaced the motor? Had this happen and know what to do? What it is? Stripped gear? Is it DIY friendly? Why pay someone for something you can do yourself? Of course it's -20C outside and the garage isn't heated...:blankface:

Not sure about replacing it but I did the wiper delete and it took maybe 15 minutes. The inside of the hatch has one screw in the handle and the rest just pop off with a firm tug. the rear of the wiper lifts and there is a nut there as well. Remove the wiper arm and pull the motor out.

It's brand new. My first mod i think
