Can't get brake drum back on!

I dont know what I'm doing wrong.cant get the drum to fit over the new brake shoes .It fits fine on the other side so its the right size . I left the other side as reference to compare and make sure everything is the same . I took pictures before I started . The star wheel is fully closed the parking brake is off - everything checks out . I started over 4 times still cant get it on. I Filed down the brake shoes -A LOT but it made no difference . Now I ruined these brake shoes . What am I doing wrong ? For some reason | can't upload pics. sorry

Hard to say for sure. Look close at everything to make sure in right place. Make sure the emergency brake is all the way off and that the brake pump cylinder was pushed back all the way, which usually involves taking the cap off where you add fluid to relieve pressure.
