Clicking sound after shutoff

Been trying to get this sound recorded for several days now. I'll pull in, start recording, shut the car off, and then it doesn't make the sound. Or it starts making it only after I give up and get out of the car.. shut the door, or hit the Lock button, when I don't have the camera going anymore.


This time it started after I got out of the car, and I did manage to hit record while it was still making the noise.

Then when I listened to it, I realized how noisy my garage is.





The sound from the car is the galloping-like click/tap.

Ignore the louder, every-second tick (electric fence), and the interruption from the failing water pump (kicks in for a few attempted pumps around 3secs-6secs).

i have the same but not exactly like that. mine was the freon something like defrosting when the engine is turned off.

Anyone have any other ideas? Or have heard this same sound?

It doesn't have any real consistency as to when it happens. Didn't happen at all tonight. Sometimes it's as SOON as I shut off the car and am still inside (easily heard inside as well as outside), sometimes when I get out and close the door, sometimes not until I hit the lock button. Sometimes not at all! I'm thinking it will be a PITA to try to have the dealer reproduce the issue. Still, that might be what I have to do...

I know it's not the best quality recording for sound, due to the other noises in the garage... especially with the electric fence that's 20 feet away managing to be louder than the sound from the car I'm right in front of. I have to turn my volume all the way up to hear it. But it's definitely still hear-able on the recording.
