clock is fast?

My radio's clock is fast. I think it gets about 5 minutes ahead every 2 weeks.

The only way to change it is through some menus, so I doubt I'm unintentionally increasing the time.

Anyone else experiencing this?
Any fix?

I noticed this too, I have mine set to auto-update via GPS or whatever, I might try programming it manually and see if it still does it. Nice having it auto-update for daylight savings time though.

I do not have Mylink, but find my clock to be slow and loose about 3-5 minutes a month going from my iPhone time which is autoset.

It's almost been another two weeks and again my clock is ahead by 8 minutes.
This is definitely a problem for me.

Anyone have a suggestion on this? I'm scared to have a dealer mess with the car over something so tiny. What would they fix/replace?

If they were to replace it, it's likely to be the stereo. The clock should be a stereo function rather than tied to anything else.

Personally, I would not let the dealer mess with my dash for something as small as a clock. I rarely use it as I have a watch on me all the time. Not worth the risk of scratched panels or omitted/lost fasteners resulting in rattles or simply poor fitment.

Why not have a dealer fix it? Its the dealer's responsibility under warranty.

And if they break/scratch stuff, or lose fasteners, that is shotty workmanship and they can fix that too.

Sometimes personal time is worth much more than a fast clock, especially if you have to go back and have the dealer/shop what they screwed up trying to fix it in the first place. It's especially applicable to those with jobs and families or those going to school and working at the same time.

I don't have a family nor do I go to school, but I do value my time quite a bit.

Yeah, that's my concern with going to the dealer. I'm afraid something else will get messed up and I'll waste a lot of time.

I'm surprised no one else is having the same problem. My clock circuit has a bad quartz crystal?

I'm no watch expert - not sure what causes it to be that far off.

Truth be told, in my entire life I've never had a digital watch/clock be this inaccurate. Even the cheapest clocks I've had before worked just fine and were rather accurate. Mechanical watches can vary, of course.

It's unusual.

Thank you Erica. I will likely live with the problem until I have some other reason to go to the dealership.

In the meantime I'll just adjust my clock every other Monday morning at 8:00 EST (8:10 SST)
