Coilover / Suspension Install Questions

Hey everyone,

to those who don't know me, I drive a bagged mk6 jetta, and my girlfriend drives a 14' sonic LT hatch in gray.

Anyhow, we're looking to lower the sonic. From what I've seen, the cruze seems kind of similar to the sonic... Can cruze coilovers be used on sonics? And also, what does the install entail? I did the bag install on my jetta so I'm somewhat handy. I'm just curious if I need any special tools for the job.

There are subtle differences but they can be made to fit. Most of the Cruze coilover kits went in during the beginning when there were not many options for the Sonic and to be honest, there was only one or two cases that I can remember. A search should find the threads, but they are a couple of years old now. So, it can be done and isn't too hard, but why would you not go with a car specific kit unless you've gotten a steal on a Cruze kit.

^ thank you! and we're looking at Cruze coilovers as well because there are a lot more options it seems like. I'd prefer to find a used set but they're hard to come by. In the euro world, you can get a set of ST's used for like $300 I'm not used to coilovers being so expensive lol.

Chevy sells twice as many Cruze plus the Buick version, as Sonic but I bet there are more coilover choices for the Sonic.

thanks everyone for the input. I ended up buying those used BC type R's that were on here and we did the install yesterday. It was pretty similar to a euro coilover install. I've got pictures on a thread here
