DDM works intake?

think about spending some of my hard earned christmas money on a ddm intake. i'm wondering if anyone has one or knows anyone who does, if so how does it perform? does it work well on the factory tune? im not expecting much of a gain for my butt dyno but i wouldnt mind hearing the diverter valve every once in a while.

factory tune you will feel no gain because the ECM will change the map to maintain stock power levels. it'll sound cool though.

But you will notice a slight increase in throttle responsiveness by eliminating the restrictive stock intake since it creates a negative pressure zone. opcorn:

The tune is the best 300 bucks ive spent on the car. But the intake is really nice. I have both and the combination with the BOV is impeccable

I had your exact set up and liked it as well, all quality parts. I prefer the more subtle BNR/Forge BPV though and that's what I'm running right now..

Pacman you should expect a 10 minute install and thats it. Await for your cable/tune email and watch the tutorial video on youtube if you have any questions

Thanks, most of the members prefer low and loud!lol Me too. I will probably look into getting it a couple of weeks before heading home. I'm thinking an 18" Magnaflow resonator (plus the 14" Magnaflow out back) will be needed with no cats.

Tune then intake and/or exhaust building up the "Stage 1". Tune/Intake/Exhaust.

I think it's a close call between the ZZP and DDM, both are great intakes. I went for the DDM because it came with a heat shield for the same price as the ZZP.

thanks for the imput guys, im just put my order in for the intake. im getting the trifecta tune probly as my next upgrade. cant wait to carve some more cones this summer and hopfully get a few track days in too.:banana:

Glad you asked because I have been thinking about getting this intake too. I will probably wait for my warranty to be up to get the tune. From what I have heard/read its not detectable...

I see people say "wait for the warranty to be up" all the time, I don't really get it. Car will be 100K miles worth of used up by then, and it's almost certainly years in your future. Plus, the tune (well, the Trifecta tune anyway, dunno about others) has a transparency mode that has been tested by a dealer that knew it was there and still couldn't find it, plus any tune can be flashed back to stock if you're that paranoid, and finally some (not all) service departments won't void your warranty based on this or other mods if you talk to them in advance about them; you could try that latter idea out on a nearby but out of town Chevy dealership so if they reject you it's no big deal.

It's just me, I know, but I'd say get the tune, the difference between tuned and untuned Sonic is night and day, and there's little real reason to worry about it wrecking your warranty.

I'm not one to talk though, because I can assure you with my list of mods, my own Warranty isn't worth the paper it was printed on... except that my local service HAS agreed that they will still cover anything that isn't clearly a new part or definitely caused by one. YMMV on that one.

It is bad business for gm to fight warranty stuff unless ur mods really are the reason for the problem bc

1. Gm is a company that relies on good customer service to keep buyers loyal.
2. Laws for warranty favor the buyer more than the manufacturer. They would have to prove in court that it was ur part exactly that caused the malfunction. Not saying it cant be done but is it worth loosing potential future income and money for legal costs to win a warranty battle. Most likely no

I just wanted to play it safe. I asked my local dealership (where I bought my car) about intakes. To my surprise the service manager totally advised against even getting a drop in because of the filament the MAF can be clogged with filter oil. I could see that if the owner didn't let the filter dry. Then he said he would honor warranty issues if I bought a GM performance intake. :blankface: He was nice about it. I'm just not buying it what he's selling.

Long story short, I will probably take my car elsewhere, get the DDM, and buy the tune with my tax moneys. :banana:

They would have to prove in court with the damaged maf sensor itself that the oil damaged it.

If the dealership gives u a hard time call GM on them. Bosses higher up the chain handle complaints a lot better than dealership. They give in ......why?
