Debate on best intake for 1.8L

I have been searching online for aftermarket intakes for my 2017 sonic. So far I have not seen many intakes for the 1.8L.
What are my options for the 1.8L and does anyone have suggestions on a good aftermarket intake?

A K&N CAI is one option, and it will work well with a Trifecta tune if you go that route. K&N may offer a rebate, too https://www.airflowrebates.com/

or the Injen short ram intake, although I am not a fan of the chrome pipe Injen Short Ram Intake Chevy Sonic 1.8

stay away from the cheap alternatives on Ebay and Amazon. I had one on a Saturn that completely failed, allowing unfiltered air directly into the engine
just some food for thought... opcorn: perhaps the K&N and CAI's in general do not offer the best protection and filtration for your engine

Thanks. I will eventually be getting a trifecta tune on my Sonic after I get the aftermarket parts I want. I was thinking about the K&N CAI as an option. But now that I read that forum you linked I'm not sure. I'm going to have to look into it further. I want this car as a daily for at least 5 years and I dont need a aftermarket filter shortening its life span.

I am going to lower the sonic. I am looking at Eibach springs pro kit. Not to low and can still be daily driven.

Before summer I will be buying a full aftermarket exhaust. But once again I'm having trouble finding them online for a 2017 1.8L sonic. Then shortly after a Trifecta or BNR tune.
